Mounting
The exchanger preheats oil to
normal operating temperatures and serves as a cooler once proper temperature is
attained.
The preheating function is
advantageous because it helps to avoid premature oil deterioration due to
frequent and short run times on some boats which use the engine only to exit
and enter the harbor. These short run times do not allow the engine to attain
proper operating temperatures.
This prevents excess moisture
and harmful residues from boiling off.
By pre-heating the engine oil,
the engine reaches proper operating temperature faster, resulting in better
performance and longevity. |
