Coffee Cup Stirling
Engine
 |
Imagine the worlds most efficient engine design running off the heat of
your coffee mug.
When the heat expands the air, the air pushes up on the piston.
When the air cools, it contracts, pulling the piston down. This
heating
and cooling moves the piston, making the propeller turn.
Made of
metal
parts with wood propeller.

Demonstrate the Stirling Design External Combustion Engine with our 18 cm x 11
cm working model.
The Stirling engine currently is being re-examined as a practical source of
power because of its adaptability to almost any fuel.
First produced in the 1800s as a non-electric fan and an automatic
hot air water pump, the engine soon became obsolete due to its lack of
sufficient power when compared to the newly developed combustion engine.
Any fuel can be used with our model, but denatured alcohol is suggested
for clean operation. The book Stirling Cycle Engines by Andy Ross and
an owners manual are included.
